A few weeks ago I got my husband to take some pictures of me with my new haircut so I could update my profile photo. We went out into the brilliant sunshine in our backyard – a perfect setting to take some shots.
Except for the toddler in the background.
Connor was having a beastly-behaviour sort of day and… Well, I think the outtakes really say it all.

I'll keep an eye on him... Look, I can watch him out of the corner of my eye and still face the camera.

No, I can't watch. I'll just close my eyes and pretend he's not doing that.

Can I throttle him now?
Next time I think I’ll just go to the photo booth in the mall. Alone.

You look so great with your new haircut! Let’s face it, you look great all the time
Love your new digs too. You can hardly tell there’s a wee toddler in the background
Aw, you’re too sweet. Thanks!
Hahahaha, love the outtakes. The first one? I bet I look like that a lot!
You? No. Never.
Seconding this. Now I’m really curious to see this expression on my face!
I love that last picture. Totally silly, and just as totally sweet.
I think we should all take pictures like that and post them.
Hahaha … I could definitely relate to your expressions there, especially the half “I’m watching you, kid” and half “I’m smiiiiiiling here! Will you just take the damn picture and be done with it?!?” face! LOL
I’ve got that face down pat.
love the new haircut!
Thanks, Stacey!
Love the hair a lot.
Also love the last picture… it is familiar.
Thanks, Jenni. I suspect we’ve all done that at one point!
Your hair looks great short and I think closing your eyes is the best way to pretend the child is not being a pain.
Except for the noise. I haven’t figured out how to effectively block that out yet.
Love these outtakes. So funny. And the new look is awesome!
If you can’t laugh about it…right? And thanks!
Haha, you still look great. Even with the mommy face of confusion.
I actually particularly like that one…
You are too cute.
Hee. Thanks.
OK, my favourite is the last one!
LOVE IT! So real
Ah, how well you know me.
“beastly behavior”… we’ve had some of those days lately.
I love the “what are you doing?” shot!
Funny thing is I can’t even remember what he was doing. But I was SO annoyed at the time.
—You are Gorgeous!
thanks for coming to visit me. X
Thank you.
And you’re welcome. Good for you for writing about it.
Not sure what your hair was like before, but I like the new look! Outtakes or not, those are great pictures. (My husband did that for me a few weeks ago, but I realized my hair looked too faded…..I needed a cut and color!) Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night!
Oh this made me smile so much. You are gorgeous. And so *real.* So very real.
That’s a perfect compliment. Thank you.
You’re too funny! Beautiful pics.
Heh, thanks.
This made me laugh. Great shots and funny thoughts. Who needs a mall photo booth? Speaking of that…do you really get to go to the mall alone? I am sooo jealous.
I do! Actually, the first outing I had by myself when my son was a newborn was to the mall. I was so anxious and just walked around for a bit and then came home. Ha! Now I just say, “See ya later!”
Ha ha, I love the out-takes! The last one is my favourtie. My sentiments exactly every time I’m trying to do something and the kids won’t let me!
I managed to look like I didn’t really want to do it…
How funny are these : )
You are beautiful though. Despite your background : )
Thank you
I’m fairly certain that MOST of my family photos have me making at least ONE of these faces! ha ha! Especially the “Hurry up and take the picture… I’m halfway still looking at my kids…” face!
Also, I dig the haircut. You look great!
LOL I can’t even imagine trying to do that if my kids were around. All the pics would be of me yelling.
I definitely learned my lesson!
Great pics (even if they are the outtakes!). I like your haircut. I tried doing some self-photos when I got my hair cut, but apparently the camera can’t auto-focus when it’s on a self-timer, so most of the pics are blurry (or, as you say, I was watching the toddler in the background)… I end up using a four-year-old photo taken before I got married, because it’s the “nicest” and “most professional” pic of me.
That’s the beauty of having a husband who does photography. You should see the self-portraits I do. They’re awful.
Lucky you to have a photographer husband. I always take all the photos in our family, I’m not perfect but just have a better eye for the shots than my husband. He just takes bad photos…just sayin’! I like all the expressions in your pics. The shots that are not perfectly posed all the time show the real you, don’t you think? Stopping by from Let’s Bee Friends.
Absolutely. I think that’s why I hate most pictures of me. When I’m posed I don’t look like myself.
You look great!
Thank you!
I love that you shared your outtakes. Yours look a heck of a lot better than mine!
Thanks for stopping by and linking up for WW. I’d love for you to stop by and share your favorite summer photos in my Sweet Summer Finale and you’ll be entered to win a $200 photography prize pack. Have a great weekend.
Forgot to mention that I love your design. I’m also following you now via GFC and “like” your FB fan page.
Thanks, Kristi! I liked your page as well. Will stop by for the finale!
The ‘can I throttle him’ one is my favorite! It’s both adorable AND relatable. I’ve been there. Your hair looks great!
Thanks! I think we’ve all been there.
Hehe, trying to get a photo with a toddler around. You are brave and look cute with the new doo!
I know – I should have known better.
Thanks!
