A Successful Ski Trip

So we did it. We went skiing and no one broke a leg. We all had a blast, including (perhaps especially) the toddler. Photographic evidence:

It takes a few people to get a kid onto skis for the first time.

But we did it! Doesn’t he look proud?

Going up the lift with Uncle Greggy.
(This requires a lot of concentrating on one’s feet, apparently.)

Here he comes!
“Let’s go again!” (and again and again and again…)

The big kids did a few big-kid runs too.

My superstar sister pulled out some tricks. #actionshot #notreally

Me at the top of the hill.
(Have you noticed I don’t post a lot of pictures of myself here? Now you know why.)

Turn the camera around. (Ah, that’s better.)┬áThe view from the top of the hill.

Most excellent fun. We’ll definitely do it again.

PS I forgot to tell you! I’m a finalist for a Canadian Weblog Award in the Health & Wellness category. Blimey! How cool is that?

  1. Wheeeee so fun!!! I’m kinda wishing we live in Canada………….

  2. The pics of your son on skis for the first time reminds me of my first time. Same hill, I was probably around 8 years old. The bunny hill, the tow rope (The new way of getting up the hill looks way easier than the old tow rope!), learning to snow-plow…I can’t wait to take my little guy. So glad you are enjoying Calgary in the winter!

Also, your looking ‘vibrant’ in your yellow jacket! Love it!

  3. Awesome!!! So glad you all went for it!!

  4. The picture of you is my favourite one! You look gorgeous! I’m glad you had a great time.

  5. he really does look genuinely proud of himself and you look great! glad you had such a good time :)

  6. Looks like you had a great time!

  7. Wow you must have had a really great time! I really like the photo at night, the city with its lights…it could be wonderful to glide down in the snow while seeing the lights…I’m sure all of you enjoyed it!

  8. Lanae (@Hungrigyrl) says:

Well that does look like a successful ski trip! Glad you had fun and no one broke a leg! :)

  9. Looks like you guys had an awesome time. And I’m a bit jealous. I’m a disaster on skis.

  10. Looks like you had a blast. I was learning to ski when I got pregnant with Evan. I haven’t been since & he’s 4 1/2. Dewey would really like me to try again. I’m afraid I would be the one to break a leg. Eeep.

  1. […] one word for 2012 and I wanted to really get out and enjoy our new city and all it offers. We went skiing and skating, and the picture above was at the Lake Louise Ice Festival. Awesome month (that also […]
